Lloyd trained from 1961 to 1966 at The Hornsey College of Art and the Royal College of Art. He worked for some years as a graphic designer and migrated to commerce for the remainder of his career. He returned to art following retirement in 2002, dividing his attention between sculpture and painting. In painting he generally works in oils, to produce representational studies and in acrylics, with mixed media, to produce images employing greater freedom in both the contextual and formal aspects of his work. He uses the latter as the vehicle to develop new ideas. He lives and works in Wiltshire where he He exhibits with The Guild of Wiltshire Artists, Marlborough Artists. Cricklade Art Group, Hook Artists and The Artzeit Group.
